Iono the Fanatics by Fujieda Miyabi is a short yuri manga with a vastly distinct premise. The queen of a small nation, Iono-sama visits Japan in search for women with luscious black hair to take as concubines (sobame). After meeting and and quickly seducing Eto, Iono tries to convince Eto to leave Japan as her sobame. Iono the Fanatics depicts the pair’s time in Japan before Iono returns to her country. Clearly, this is not the usual overused schoolgirl romance.
Iono the Fanatics does not take place in a school. The characters are not students infatuated with their sempai. Instead, Iono-sama, Eto, and her ministers are all assumed to be adults (except that one cute loli). With that comes a lack of teenage drama and a maturity in all the characters. This is something I really appreciated.
Further, unlike other yuri manga depicting adults like Octave, Iono the Fanatics features almost no angst. The characters do not show much insecurity or self-doubt over their love for Iono. There is no gray area between romance and friendship nor conflicting thoughts of social conformity. The romance is lighthearted but firm and the characters are honest about their feelings. For example, Iono is very clear on what she wants from Eto and she is very aggressive in getting what she wants… Free from all the uneasiness, the manga remains a fun romantic comedy all the way through the two volumes. This is particularly important also because Iono the Fanatics is a harem yuri manga.
Harem and yuri are two genre that are rarely paired together. Most notably Shoujo Sect has done it before, albeit with less focus on the actual simultaneity of relationships. The notion of being in love with a single lover still remains in Shoujo Sect. Iono, on the other hand, is frank about her status as a queen and her voracious appetite for cute girls. She makes it clear to Eto and the ministers/ mistresses that she cannot love only one woman, and Iono’s harem embraces this. Of course, Eto and some women do wish for more attention from Iono at times. However, as alluded to before, the comedic and loving mood of the manga allow these issues to be addressed easily and pleasantly. Jealousy among the women never becomes anything too serious or ugly. Iono’s charming personality probably helps a lot with that as well.
Iono is definitely quite the character. She is beautiful, cute, ecchi, fun, aggressive, a bit conniving, and most importantly, very queenly. Miyabi Fujieda succeeds in portraying this incredibly lovely queen through Iono’s various interactions with other characters. There are several glimpses of her elegant eminence, during which the readers could really understand why the women willingly follow Iono despite having to share her love.
Iono the Fanatic has always been a favorite. It is a rather unique yuri manga that breaks the popular yuri stereotypes set by Marimite and Strawberry Panic. It is a romantic harem comedy and it does all three genre really well. The romance is heartwarming; the harem is lovely; and the comedy is funny. Moreover, consistent with Miyabi Fujieda’s style, it has no ecchi at all even as a harem manga. What it does have is lot and lots of cuteness. In fact, everything and everyone are so cute that I just cannot fault it for anything.
Well that is my first full cover of an anime song. This song was fairly easy, and nice. The guitar parts are fairly balanced and well composed. There is a part in full edition where it is fucking insane. I wish I could get that good seriously fast. I will upload another video because the score that I used came in two parts. I played the lead. The rhythm part is a tad bit difficult due to the 16th notes. I will work on that right away and then merge the two files improving the first part too. I am still trying to learn how to record a video of my playing this and adding the music.
BECAUSE IF IT IS, KISHIMOTO HAS OFFICIALLY GONE CRAZY.
NO, THIS IS NOT A PLOT TWIST. IT’S MORE LIKE WHHHHEEEEEEEE SASUKE IS DEFINITELY NOT COMING OUT OF THIS MANGA/ANIME ALIVE.
AND THEN PEOPLE KEPT TELLING ME THAT KAKASHI WAS DEAD, AND HINATA DIED TOO.
AND THEN KARIN’S ALSO DEAD, BUT I DIDN’T REALLY CARE ABOUT HER ( or hinata) ANYWAY- /shot then brick’d
/sobsobsob KAKASSHHHHIIIIIII~
and I might not like Sakura all that much, BUT STILL. DID SHE REALLY HAVE TO DIE? I MEAN, GEEZ, WAY TO GO SASUKE. RIGHT WHEN EVERYONE WAS STARTING TO LIKE YOU AGAIN.
DOES HE NOT HAVE ANY FREAKING FEELINGS AT ALL? SHE WAS YOUR GODDAMN FORMER TEAMMATE.
I just love the end love it !!! hahahahahahaha and I just love the look Lee-Lengs face when they toke him back XD hahahaha what more can I say……. Oooh yeee Kajika and Lee-Leng are really fit to be together it just have to be them. hehe but I just love Eugene ^_^he really is like Mustafa
But what happens to the rest??? Watch and find out.
The Imai files are a collection of Pre-Production art from Super Dimension Calvary Southern Cross and Genesis Climber Mospeada, more or less known as ”The Other Two Parts of Robotech” to people unfamiliar to the series.
The owner of the files, Roger Harkavy aquired them when he visted a warehouse that formerly belonged to Imai Kagaku, a defunct toy & model company. The designs themselves come from Artmic (Shinji Aramaki) and Studio Ammonite (Hiroshi Ogawa, Hirotoshi Okura & Takashi Ono).
What I found nice about these were they give the perspective of how a TV series is developed, particularly from the sponsor/merchandizer perspective.
aaaa ren is sooo cute >_< hehe he tried to act cold and mean towards kyoko and he almost succeeded but he felt bad for scare her so he stopped ^_^ and he told her something but I don’t know what T^T
hehe but hey i like the cold ren he was cooooool -^_^- and no matter how he looks is he a handsome manga boy ^_-

Unfortunately, there was nary a trace of Nanami in this episode, but other than that, this was an interesting episode that actually managed to surprise me a little. Togame and Shichika do a little shopping before heading to the middle of the Inaba Desert, where the second of Shikizaki Kiki’s Deviant Blades, the Zantō Namakura, is to be found in the possession of a certain swordsman named Uneri Ginkaku.
Like Bakemonogatari, it seems that this series is going to be very dialogue-driven, with the majority of the forty-nine minute anime taken up with Shichika and Togame talking about a variety of subjects from Shichika’s odd choice of clothing to a debate over what his catchphrase should be. I was surprised by Shirasawi’s fate: since Kōmori had some fairly neat powers, and put up a good fight against Shichika, I really wasn’t expecting Shirasawi to be killed so shortly after he was introduced. Then again, the real adversary in this episode is Ginkaku.
Two episodes in, and Katanagatari is still top-notch, but whether or not one agrees with this appraisal would largely be dependant on how much they enjoy long stretches of well-written dialogue.
New Characters
Shirasawi Maniwa
Backwards talking is power special whose, ninjas Corps Maniwa the of another is Shirasawi Maniwa. Annoying really getting started shit talking-backwards the before just two in sliced getting by viewer this shocks and, Castle Ginkaku at arrive Shichika and Togame before Ginkaku Uneri confronts Shirasawi. Isn’t he, no but, ninja solitary a only he’s since, badass pretty be to going was he thought I here. Disregard that crazy backwards jibber-jabber. Shirasawi Maniwa is another of the Maniwa Corps ninjas, whose special power is talking backwards. Shirasawi confronts Uneri Ginkaku before Togame and Shichika arrive at Ginkaku Castle, and shocks this viewer by getting sliced in two just before the backwards-talking shit started getting really annoying. Here I thought he was going to be pretty badass, since he’s only a solitary ninja, but no, he isn’t. He’s just a jobber. He appears to be thoroughly dead. Weird.
Shirasawi Maniwa’s voice actor is Hatano Wataru, who has done a number of minor roles in a variety of different series, including Naruto, Ah My Goddess, Magikano, Darker Than Black, and Yumeria.
Uneri Ginkaku
Uneri Ginkaku describes himself as a ronin, the last of his clan, dedicated to protecting his castle. He has perfected a technique he calls Zerosen, the art of drawing his sword and cutting with it in one continuous movement, perfected it to the point to where the act is so quick as to be imperceptible. Combining this technique with the power of the Zantō Namakura, which becomes even faster when it draws blood, Ginkaku’s strikes are invisible even to the trained eyes of someone like Shichika. Ginkaku defends the castle with the hopes of restoring it and the land of Inaba around it to its former glory—a noble goal which is now tainted by the Deviant Blade he carries, transforming Ginkaku into a jaded loner with a pointless obsession.
Uneri Ginkaku’s voice actor is Miyamoto Mitsuru. Miyamoto has had some major roles, like as Roger Smith in Big O. He was also art teacher Mizuhoshi in Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, Kisaragi Itsuki in RahXephon, and Leon Links in the Zone of the Enders anime series.
I’ve had these four sitting in a folder for months – completely forgot about them Anyway here’s Crest/Banner of the Stars, Bamboo Blade, 2×2=Shinobuden and Kimera.
Crest/Banner of the Stars (I, II & III): Fantastic example of a space opera with tons of character development – 4.5/5 for the meta-series as a whole.
PLOT: The world setting for the Stars series is fantastically well developed. The Abh race’s culture, politics and language are all wonderfully realised and give a sense of real depth to the backdrop of this show, however I would have liked a bit more on United Mankind – they’re largely sidelined except for being ‘the enemy’ as the series is very Abh-centric. Essentially at its core the Stars series is about two individuals, Jinto and Lafiel, and how their relationship develops over time. The rich, well-developed world and epic space battles provide the action and drama, but Stars always makes sure that it keeps its focus on Jinto and Lafiel. As characters they are wonderfully developed over the course of the 4 series – watching them grow was a joy. All the characters receive quite a bit of development, making them all feel like proper people rather than just plot devices. Admiral Spoor was a favourite – her wit and merciless teasing of her Chief of Staff was a source of great amusement to me!
As individual series I found that I liked Crest and Banner II most of the four series because I preferred the real focus being on a more personal level (Banner II was probably my favourite of the lot). Crest introduced Jinto & Lafiel and established the fundamental differences between the Landers and Abh way of thinking.
Banner I had the most world development – it set up the entire war backdrop and made the viewer familiar with the way battle is fought in the Stars universe (although I felt that perhaps a bit too long was spent on long drawn out battles rather than personal drama). Banner II once again went back to a more personal view point as the focus switched to Jinto & Lafiel’s trials as Ambassadors to a penal colony, and had the most character development and really cemented the relationship between the characters, plus I found the action to be the best since Crest. Banner III rounded off the series nicely – although the mostly written epilogue was a bit disappointing, I wanted a proper Happy End!
The Stars series is very dialogue intensive – most of the exposition is through long dialogues, and some may find that dull. However for me the scripting made sure that these long speeches never got dull – it really does have a wonderful and really witty script. The fact that there are quite a few scenes completely in the Abh language was also impressive; its rare to see a series with its own fully developed in-universe language (although you can also tell that some of the Japanese VAs struggled with the pronunciation slightly).
In terms of action, most of it is on a grand scale. Huge (and I mean huge) fleets of star ships waging war is an impressive sight (although it got a bit dull after the 1st few repetitions). There isn’t a lot of hand to hand or ground conflict – most of it is battle ship and lots of chessboard like tactics; which can get a bit glazed eye inducing (I found this to be the case in Banner I especially)……..I think that’s enough rambling about the plot!
ANIMATION: Impressive with a steady increase in quality over the course of the 4 series. The character designs were excellent – lots of variety even though the colour scheme was fairly limited to blue or brown hair! The attention to detail in the Star Forces uniforms, family crests, ship interiors, landscapes and battle scenes was really something to be applauded. Again the richness of the world setting really was a triumph.
MUSIC & VOICE ACTING: I love the score for the Stars series. Unusually they kept the same OP theme for all 4 incarnations – an entirely instrumental piece with just simple star field images in the background; very simple yet at the same time very epic feeling. The grandness of the orchestral pieces made for a rich soundscape – a really impressive musical score. The Japanese voice acting was excellent throughout……some of the files I downloaded also had the English dub, so I attempted to listen to that out of curiosity – take my advice and do not inflict that on yourselves – its godawful!!!
So yeah, this has turned into one of my longer reviews as there is so much to appreciate about the Stars series – highly recommended sci-fi series!
Bamboo Blade: A watchable, light-hearted if generic series – 3.5/5
PLOT: The series revolves around a high school kendo club with mainly female members. Fairly standard sports anime plotlines follow – the usual training & matches format. Nothing stands out as too different, the characters are all fairly generic but entertaining to watch. My favourites are the bi-polar Miya-Miya & the impoverished hot-blooded Toraji-sensei
ANIMATION: The animation quality good and the character designs are attractive – no complaints in this department. The kendo fights are drawn well and with enough going on to be interesting. There is also good use of chibi’s to enhance the comedy value.
MUSIC & VOICE ACTING: The OP & ED are sung by the seiyu’s and are fairly standard fair – nothing remarkable but not terrible. Background music is bland but does the job. The voice acting is great though – Toraji-sensei is Kamina! All I hear is Kamina when on epic speech mode. The rest of the cast is pretty high quality too.
Overall Bamboo Blade is a very watchable show – even if the individual components are all quite generic, everything comes together to form something quite entertaining.
2×2=Shinobuden (Ninja Nonsense): Completely lacks coherent plot, but is a great laugh – 3.5/5
PLOT: Another show with a wafer-thin plot, but its still amusing. The structure is similar to Muteki Kanban Musume with 2 short stories per episode. In fact 2×2=Shinobuden reminds me of Muteki Kanban Musume quite a bit as both are filled with amusing, entertaining yet completely shallow characters! Onsokumaru is inspired!
ANIMATION: Well it’s not the selling point of the show, but its reasonably well animated and nice and colourful. Character designs are decent enough too, but quite generic.
VOICE ACTING & MUSIC: This voice cast is absolutely brilliant! Each and every character has a fantastic seiyuu, but the standout really is Norio Wakamoto, the yellow ball with a face. I loved the OP & ED too – very fun and catchy!
All in all 2×2 Shinobuden isn’t going to tax your brain, but is good for light viewing if you want a quick laugh.
PLOT: This is going to be short as I can’t remember much of this movie other than being completely underwhelmed and very confused. It started out decently enough I think – lots of mystery and sci-fi elements are introduced, but somewhere around the middle it’s like the creators forgot what the point was and fired in every snippet of information that popped into their heads! There is no character development at all really – Osamu is Mr Average Joe and Kimera him(her?)self is void of any type of personality at all! It just tries to do too much in too short a time and ends up as a muddled mess.
ANIMATION: The animation is good! Nice detailing and interesting designs – although the androgynous design of Kimera is a bit confusing…..what was the point to that anyway?? If its going to be yaoi make it yaoi FFS!
MUSIC & VOICE ACTING: I don’t remember the music at all – the voice acting was also forgettable.
Overall a pretty disappointing show – may have had promise if it was a short series rather than a movie as the creators may have been able to organise their thoughts a bit better. As it is Kimera is a bit of a shambles – avoid.
Although Kara no kyou Kai ended quite awhile ago. I just got interested in the group Kalafina. They sang the songs for KnK ova movie and I gotta say they have awesome vocals.
Current top fav song from them would be 音楽 and Fairytale.(been listening to 音楽 on repeat lol after Renai Circulation). Did a little research on the group and I realized 2 of the group member was from FictionJunction.
All in all. Awesome group and lol I’m becoming a Keiko fanboy
Some relatively good news for those of us wondering about Bakemonogatari’s 14th episode, such as myself. It turns out the production team plans to finish or complete the episode by the middle of next week, which hopefully means that the episode will show up sometime around that time, we can only hope~
The official website for the television anime adaptation of NisiOisin’s Bakemonogatari light novels has posted a new interview with director Akiyuki Shinbo and producers Mitsutoshi Kubota and Atsuhiro Iwakami on Friday. In the interview, Iwakami said that the staff plans to finish the second unaired episode, “Tsubasa Cat – Part 4,” in the middle of next week. He apologized for the delay after noting that the staff had previously promised to complete the episode in the middle of January. He also confirmed that the episode will be streamed on the official website just as the first unaired episode had been.
There was a shortage of post this week…but I’ll be updating a bit in the coming week, I’d love to review the new episode of Bakemonogatari if it comes out that week, of course get to Baka-Test episode six(which has been mostly written now), and even get to the previous Chu-Bra episode since I’d been awaiting a “certain” character’s appearance for some time.
