Penguin Musume Heart Review

penguin musume heart

i just finished penguin musume heart (aka penguin girl) like 5 minutes ago. im planning to watch rosario + vampire 2 soon so im going to write about penguin right now. first of all this is pretty much an anime with no plot. dont expect too much out of it just sit back and enjoy the ride. the anime is about a rich school girl that is also a huge otaku. her friends include 2 martial artists and a super easy going shrine maiden.

this was a real easy watch for me. the 22 episodes are all about 10 minutes or so; so i didnt feel very rushed to get it done or anything. it was more like “i have some time to kill or im bored so im going to watch penguin musume heart”. many of the episodes can be found on youtube, but i did have to download episode 14 because i couldnt find it anywhere. there is some fan service and mild nudity in like 2,3 episodes but other than that its little more than ecchi. a lot of the episodes revolve around Sakura “Penguin” Nankyoku being a stereotypical crazy/fetishy otaku and getting checked by her friends. like i said a very easygoing and fun watch.

the characters are very, VERY well voiced (which i love) and none of them are annoying. i finished the anime thinking the characters are really what made the show enjoyable. a lot of the minor characters also were very well voiced making me want to watch other stuff with them in it. unfortunately it seems very few of them are actually listed on myanimelist.net and of the ones listed many of them arent in too many roles. its also quite sad that i cant find very many pictures of the series easily online >.<

the opening and endings were very cute although the songs itself were not to my liking. the ending 2 episodes did not have the same plot/feel as the prior 20 episodes, it was like "where the hell did this come from??". it also left the series open for a second season which i have yet to hear about but would watch. its pretty much a time-killing anime, but a good one. ill give it a 8.5/10 because of the brilliant/amazing characters, the laxness of the anime, and the short yet entertaining episodes

ps: i was thinking about writing a new page just for my anime reviews, mostly for my own personal reasons but you guys are more than willing to take a look too. i have yet to decide if i want to make them lightly detailed or if i just want to rate them. oh wells. also ive changed my desktop the other day again. its what i assume is a visual novel or something of that nature called "campanella"
