It’s Porno Graffitti.
Porno Graffitti isn’t new to anime. They did Melissa for the first Fullmetal Alchemist, Hitori no Yoru for GTO, Winding Road for Ayakashi Ayashi, and Koyoi, Tsuki ga Miezu tomo for the third BLEACH movie, Fade to Black. This song, obviously, is their second one associated with the BLEACH franchise.
Why funky? ‘Cause I think it is (lame reason, I know). It’s just the feeling, especially when listening to the music closely. And, let me be frank here, I prefer this than the previous OP (Shoujo S by Scandal); Shoujo S is too cheesy for my taste.
